What personal data and why
For your registration to an event of Mediawijs, we collect your personal data, such as, contact information, professional information, dietary preferences/restrictions. Your personal data will be collected and processed for the purpose of your participation to the event (your registration, contacting you about practicalities relating to the event ...) and to provide you information about similar events and potential interesting projects or initiatives. If you don’t wish to be contacted about other events or initiatives, you will have the possibility to opt out for these emails in the resp. communications.
With whom do we share your personal data?
We might need to share your personal data with partners of the event or service providers such as catering services, etc.
We only transfer your personal information to third parties outside the EU when this is necessary to provide our services (e.g. Airtable). Third parties are always screened to ensure they handle personal information properly and necessary safeguards are in place to ensure compliance with the GDPR.
If you have agreed to this, your contact information might be shared with the other participants to the event.
Photography and video recording
Group or individual candid photographs or video recordings can be taken at this event. Some of these photographs and video images may be published in various media, such as social media, magazines, newspapers. You will only be photographed or filmed when you have consented to this.
If you wish photographs and video recordings of yourself to be removed from our website, social networks and archive, please send your request to privacy@mediawijs.be.
Storage and retention
Imec has appropriate technical and organizational measures in place which are incorporated in security policies to keep your data safe.
Your personal data will be kept for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purposes for which we are collecting your personal data, except for photographs or video recordings which are distributed online.
Your rights
During processing activities with regards to your personal data, you will have following rights:
- You have the right at all times to access your personal data
- You have the right to correct your personal data
- You have the right to delete your personal data
